On behalf of Annie Toglia's parents, Rose and Ray Toglia, it is with profound sadness that I bring to you the news of Annie's passing. On June 8, 2005, Annie passed away in Northern Westchester Hospital due to complications from her cancer with her loved ones by her side.
The Toglia family plans to carry out Annie's wishes to keep Staying Abreast alive. In memoriam, we are in the process of turning Staying Abreast Inc. into a non-profit organization, which will continue to sell Annie's book and posters, and provide current information relating to living with cancer. Her family and friends welcome your comments and suggestions for Staying Abreast's future development.
We thank you for your continued support. Please direct all communications either via the website or call me at 917-446-2955.

Staying Abreast, Rehabilitation Exercises for Breast Cancer Surgery
consists of eleven programs designed to facilitate recovery from mastectomy, lumpectomy, and breast reconstructive surgery including TRAM flap, LAT (Latissimus) flap and breast implant reconstruction. The programs can also help reduce the risks of treatment-related side effects such as lymphedema, osteoporosis, neuropathy, fatigue, and weight gain. StayingAbreast.com provides an overview of the book, which is being utilized by hospitals, medical practices, educational institutions, physical therapy centers, lymphedema clinics, and by individuals who are managing their own fitness regimens.
For individuals who cannot access the book or for hospitals/organizations who wish to provide exercise guides for their patients, Staying Abreast has produced two fold-out color Posters to which company logos may be added. The posters, titled Beginner and Intermediate Fitness Guides, contain excerpts from Staying Abreast® Guidelines and exercise samplings from the book.
Please note that the book and posters are available exclusively at StayingAbreast.com.
A breast cancer survivor and Medical Exercise Specialist with ACSM and CSCS certifications, Annie Toglia wrote the book with medical guidance from her breast surgeon, Anthony C. Cahan, M.D., F.A.C.S., and plastic and reconstructive surgeon C. Andrew Salzberg, M.D. She trusts that Staying Abreast will raise the awareness of the medical community to emphasize the importance of prescribed rehabilitation for every person undergoing surgery or treatment for breast cancer.
